Adventure time!

So I'm officially going! Thailand come at me! My friend and I have booked our flights and are off out of here on the 23rd of December! To say I'm really excited is the understatement of the century. Just some of the things I want to do in Thailand include:

  • Ride an elephant
  • Go on a hilltribe trek
  • Go on a river cruise
  • Visit some fantastic temples
  • Go to the Full Moon New Years party on Ko Phangan
  • Stay at least one night in a 5 star hotel (accomodation is crazy cheap)
  • Visit the amazing markets
  • Eat amazing Thai food
  • Drink amazing cocktails on an amazing beach
I'M SO EXCITED!!!

A homage to Chuck Taylor

Chucks. Ya gotta love them. Having spanned generations, they are the ultimate go-to footwear. So comfortable and forever in fashion. I've been wearing my hi-tops quite a bit lately and have come to fully appreciate their brilliance. My pair are just plain navy blue, but I'm keen to get some patterned ones coz I've always been envious of my friends in Dunedin who have the coolest designs. Some meaaaaaan designs that I've been getting shoe-lust over lately:

Super Mario! So mint

Batman!

Dr Seuss!

Stars n Stripes (love the vintage sorta look of these ones)

Christmas sorta print

Floral love

Aztec - probs my fav!

I salute you, Chuck Taylor, for your marvellous creation.

The Ultimate Cocktail

Had a pretty sweet day today, class involved watching the original Stepford Wives from 1975 which is a very good movie, though undeniably creepy. We were viewing it as a feminist text, which it definitely is. It was funny though because if any of the characters walked down the street today in the attire they're wearing in the film, they would totally fit in. They were wearing things like frayed denim short shorts and crop tops (pretty much what all the girls who think they're cool wear these days).

On another note...a while ago my friends and I went out for cocktails and ever since then I've really wanted to experiment with making them for myself. I've got this mean retro cocktail recipe book which has recipes that sound SO delish. I want to make drinks like this:

                 /img/placeholder.gif?aHR0cDovL2Jlc3RvZi5sb25naXNsYW5kcHJlc3MuY29tL2xpL3dwLWNvbnRlbnQvdXBsb2Fkcy8xNS5qcGc=/img/placeholder.gif?aHR0cDovL2Zhcm01LnN0YXRpYy5mbGlja3IuY29tLzQxMTkvNDc4MTc3NjQ1NV9jMjU3MDJiOGQxLmpwZw==

                                            Mojito                                          Long Island Iced Tea

                             Sidecar                                                             Tom Collins

The All Nelson                                                Frozen Melon Margharita

YUM sooooo keen to create some of these bright, colourful, nommy drinks! They be lookin so fly yo!
I think that one day I would like to have a collection like the one they have at work:

With a collection like this, the options would be endless.
Btw, I am not an alchy haha. I don't even drink much at all.

Field Candy

I like camping. I haven't done a heck of a lot of it, but have good memories from the camping I have done, and want to do more in the future. Even camping out in the backyard with friends was a highlight of my childhood! My friends and I planned to have a backyard campout at some point this summer, though I'm not sure if it'll happen coz we're kinda running out of time. I saw the most amazing tents on KuTE KIWI the other day and just had to reblog them. So incredibly cool. Here are some of my favourites...
Strawberry surprise
Snug as a bug
Get a Room
Don't be a leopard
All wrapped up
Cheese please
A touch of chintz
Out of a suitcase
Fully booked

Kayso I pretty much like all of them!! But seriously, how hip would it be to rock up at a campsite with a tent like this! Make a statement much?! Haha.
I love.

Just for kicks

Today was great. 11am start and only an hour of uni until I could return home. Though I still have loads of uni work to do whilst at home, it's still better than actually being at uni. Yay that the All Black's won again last night too, though if they were to lose to any team I'd rather it be to Argentina (got a bit of a soft spot for the pumas). The Argys put up a great fight though, and were humble in defeat (part of the reason why I like 'em). They are going to be a force to be reckoned with (excuse the cliche) when they join the four nations next year and start playing against the best teams on a yearly basis. But Yay for the ABs :) And Yay for Mills getting his 100th cap. Shame they didn't play his speech though.

Anyho.....for today's Much Love Monday I'm sharing some shoes that are TDF (to die for). I think that if I'm ever rich, I'm gonna be a shoe lady. One of those ones that has an entire wall in her walk in wardrobe just for shoes. haha. Nah probs not, but one can dream. Here are some that I heart:

black, fashion, heels, high heels, shoes
CL Check open-toed high heels
cl black shoes
The cool thing is that the last three pairs are from Wild Pair so are actually affordable!! Check out one of my favourite blogs, Here Comes the Sun to see how Amanda wears the bright orange pair just above!
These shoes would all make my feet ache though, I'm pretty sure! But still, I love!!

Busy is good

And I'm back. Spent Monday to tthis morning in Hastings and found little time for the internet. It's funny because I thought I depended it on it soooooooo much but then I lived perfectly happily without it for three days. Haha. It was lovely to see all my grandparents again and my sister who is heading to Europe soon (jealous much!). I also caught up with my bestie, whose blog you can read here.
Annnnnd this morning I finally sat and passed my full licence test! YAYA! so completely stoked. I'm back in Palmy for a while before I head back to Hastings again to visit more friends (who all converge on Hastings during uni break). Then will be heading up to Hamilton. So I'm gonna be all over the place. Busy, which is always good.
When I got back to my lovely new flat (!), my flattie had made ginger crunch. What a gem she is :) Love her to bits.
Today I'm sharing two things that are super cool and I would love to own. Donations are welcome :)
